The Malmö Association of Foreign Affairs (Utrikespolitiska Föreningen i Malmö in Swedish - UF Malmö) is a politically and religiously independent association which provides weekly lectures, debates, seminars, and other events related to international politics and global awareness, with a particular focus on:
• Current international political affairs,
• Different countries and their respective culture, language, religion, economy, political, and legal systems,
• Development-related, humanitarian and human rights issues,
• Intergovernmental and Non-Governmental Organizations, and
• Swedish foreign policy.
Furthermore, UF Malmö organizes academic field trips and travels for its members twice a year, hosts a variety of social activities, and publishes an online magazine called Pike & Hurricane. UF Malmö is a non-profit association and its activities are financed through institutional foundations and membership fees.
UF Malmö aims to create an environment where members can develop both intellectually and socially, while promoting mutual understanding and respect between nations and peoples. UF Malmö's operation is based on the principle of human dignity and equality of all human beings, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.
UF Malmö is a member of the Swedish Association of International Affairs (Utrikespolitiska Förbundet Sverige in Swedish - UFS), which is the national umbrella organisation of all thirteen associations of Foreign Affairs in Sweden. The Malmö Association of Foreign Affairs also works under the local student union, Studentkåren, and is the largest and most active association in Malmö.
