MUNmö 2018 Volunteer application

MUNmö needs your help! Are you talented with photos, communications or management? Or would just like to give us a helping hand while the conference is on?

You can list up to three positions in your application. In case you already have other commitments on one of the days of the conference but still want to volunteer, please mention this in the form along with the specific dates you will be unavailable.

You will be a staff member of one of the major events Malmö University will host this year! You will work in an international environment. This experience will strengthen your soft skills, such as your organizational, time management, and teamwork skills, which are always useful in your studies and appreciated by employers. Concerning the latter, adding MUNmö to your CV will be valuable for your future careers.

Available positions

Commitment level: Before the conference and at the conference

  1. Under Secretary Generals (USGs) – Academics team

You would love to listen in the sessions and would love to participate in the academic aspect of the conference, without the pressure of participating as a delegate of a country?

We need 4 USGs to help us with academics. Prior to the conference, you will be to provide support to the Secretary- Generals e.g. undertake research for the crisis. At the conference, you will be assigned to one committee and be their “hotline” to the organising team. You will further assist the chairs and generally help out in the committees, by e.g. passing notes. In the crisis, you will be the ones who are helping with spreading mischief between the delegates and help with crisis statements. Working closely with the rest of the academic department is required. High proficiency in English are appreciated.

2. Logistics Assistants

You can still become part of the planning board in this role. You will help the logistics department with arrangements before the conference and also during. That includes setting up catering, fika, and food-related arrangements and helping with finding out about and book of premises for the socials and parties. During the conference, you will be assisting with the set-up of rooms, fika, and lunch, but also help with cleaning. Additionally, you will also have the possibility to help with social events, including the Gala Dinner.

3. Communications/Photography Assistants:

Love helping with Social Media or doing photography? We are looking for a few volunteers, who can help us document the conference by taking pictures of all events related to MUNmö (Sessions, Gala Dinner, Pub Night, and so forth). The post holders must bring their own camera. We would also appreciate if you help with editing pictures and keeping our Social Media accounts, updated at the conference. 

4. General Volunteers

Just want to lend a hand where it is needed? We need volunteers to help us with preparing lunch, fika and registration of delegates. You can help the whole conference or just one day or a few hours. As a general volunteer, you will help with ensuring the smooth operations of the main event, from staffing the registration desk or setting up of rooms, fika, and lunch, to helping with social events, including the Gala Dinner.
